We thought we had a big problem with the “new” transmission, but it looks like we’re good to go there.
The other problem, there are only two other people here to drink beer. If you in Chicagoland, there are brats and beer to share.
Email me at woodshop00 at gee-mail if you’re in Chicagoland and have some time.

Here is what is actually going on and the freak out I had.
The junkyard trans I pulled eariler ( insert 1/2 off post ) has a bolt loose in the transmission, just sitting near the inspection cover and magnetically bonded to the drain plug.
Here is where I’m having a freak out moment feeling like the shittiest person selling a car providing bad goods.
Then as we were looking closer, we calmed down, I grabbed a beer, thought process started and we came to the conclusion that someone did someone did something to this transmission before I pulled it out of that yard.
Whoever did that thing didn’t put locktite on the threads of the shift linkage and ball that connect together to the shifting shaft of the transmission.
We are good. We would have done this anyway to replace the shifter boot that was cracked and FUBAR on the junkyard trans.
All patched up and ready to swap old to older and see if we can get this thing alive again.

One parts store run already.
I made the mistake of drinking before riding it so, no scoot for me :-/
No excuses, I’m paying someone to fly me home.

Yay, Kymco Super 8...the scoot I would love to have if I had my bike license! :)
Pity there are none used around here and no Kymco dealerships :(
How has it treated you so far?

Pretty good. It’s a lot of fun to ride.
The last month or so it’s been running rough when the motor is cold, and hard to restart when the motor is hot. I suspect the carb needs to be cleaned.

Hmmm...that’s not good. Sounds like a relatively ‘easy’ fix though! :)

I don’t drink, never have, but the rest of my family takes their alcohol very seriously. So, I always keep some good stuff on hand.

I’m sure it will be. I blame ethanol.
